Build-A-Bear Workshop Provides Grants to Pet Programs in the United States and Canada
Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. is accepting grant applications from domestic pet programs across the United States and Canada.
With funds generated through the sale of the retail stuffed toy company’s Bearemy’s Kennel Pals, the grant program provides support to domestic pet programs, including local animal shelters, stray pet rescue, and rehabilitation organizations and pet education programs. The Bearemy’s Kennel Pals grant program began awarding funds in 2004, and has distributed approximately $515,000 to date.
Grants are awarded to shelters and animal programs in the United States and Canada on a quarterly basis. Priority is given to geographic areas where the company has several stores, and to organizations that are tax-exempt or not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations.
Grants will generally range from $2,500 to $50,000.
See the Build-A-Bear Workshop Web site for program guidelines and grant application instructions.

Have you tried writting letters to local vets? Maybe they can do it as a sort of “pro bono” case. Just make the letter heartfelt.
