They simply didn’t have time to select a pumpkin, find a carving pattern online, wait 3 days before Halloween to carve it, scoop out all the stringy pulp and seeds, and then painstakingly carve intricate details into the pumpkin just in time for Halloween.

Instead of promising their kids that they’ll carve a pumpkin together next year, your group can help them create memories this year! Host a Pumpkin Pulping Professionals program where people can pre-order a pumpkin from your group, and arrange to pick it up 3 days before Halloween with the pulp and seeds already removed. The pumpkin will be ready to carve, and the customers can select from 10 pre-printed patterns found online to take home for their carving pleasure. Extra costs can be attached for providing a new tealight candle or the brand new tealight battery operated lights that resemble candles. You can also add in some pumpkin seeds pre-washed and separated from the stringy pulp. Include the baking directions for families to roast their own pumpkin seeds together.

Create fliers in advance and deliver to companies, schools and churches around town. This is a program designed to get people together without the hassle of children looming over an adult, waiting for the excitement to finally begin. Order pumpkins directly from a local farm or from the grocery store. Charge a flat fee above the cost of the pumpkins. Only cut as many pumpkins as were pre-ordered, plus 10% in case the customers decide to buy extras, or someone else stumbles onto your amazing program late this year. Extra pumpkins can be cooked and used for pumpkin pies for a future bake sale or Thanksgiving pie sale.Allow for pick-up just one or two nights for a few hours after the normal work day ends.
