Bandana of the Month Club
An excellent item to sell at a booth or at your shelter is a membership in your group’s unique club- the Bandana of the Month Club! You could offer some seasonal bandanas, for Easter, some with flowers, some patriotic ones for Independence Day as well as other holidays. You can buy fabric from various locations (and it’s usually cheaper the closer it gets to a holiday!), and always look online for a coupon. Hobby Lobby frequently has 50% off coupons along with some great sales on fabric, and Joann’s has lots of online coupons, too, that you can use in the store.
Charge $1 per bandana, and be sure to add on the cost of shipping, such as the envelope and extra postage for the added weight. You may want to take 3, 6 and 12 bandanas to the post office to weigh them and determine the exact weight of the bandanas.
January- Snowflakes
February- Hearts
March- Shamrocks
April- Easter eggs, rabbits
May- Flowers
June- Beach scenes, sunglasses, other prints (Patriotic for Canadians)
July- Patriotic, gingham, picnic tablecloth, (other summer prints)
August- Bones
September- Apples, school motifs, other prints
October- Pumpkins, fall leaves, Halloween prints
November- Fall leaves, pumpkins, Thanksgiving prints
December- Christmas trees, Hanukkah prints, snowmen, wreaths
Obviously the envelopes would be really cheap since you can find 100 for $1 at the Dollar Stores. So, maybe an extra $5 for all the shipping (postage). Or, send them out 4x a year to cut down on shipping costs. This could be a great membership to sell around the holidays or at your next tabling events! Have a few bandanas on display for various seasons to give the buyers an idea of what they’ll be getting.
I bought a bandana at a Christmas bazaar for my sister-dog (my parents’ dog, Rosie) that was made out of denim and had some jewels decorating it and the word DIVA across the back. It had a snap closure to it like those from StrapWorks (https://www.strapworks.com/) and I paid $6 for it, I think. It was a bit higher than I would normally pay for one little bandana (she’s only a tall poodle sized mix), but I liked the design. I know the ones at Petsmart sell for $4 or more, and they are just fabric, no snap closure. Many times they may have a velcro closure, which is another inexpensive option.
This is a fantastic program for crafty volunteers to do throughout the year. Many times, a volunteer may feel they are unable to give a lot of time, or may not be able to leave their home to work at a booth or event. This is a perfect fundraiser for them to do at home on their own time!

What a fun idea! I\’d up the price to at least $10-25. If it were a 4x a year club, it would be easy to coordinate with a quarterly print newsletter.
Add a few extras into the package that is shipped like pens, notepads, or other fun stuff. Vistaprint.com and Oriental Trading company would be good suppliers. Of course also include a donation envelope and the latest newsletter.
You can set up an automatic payment with paypal so that the monthly charge comes right out of the members papal account. They will keep on getting the monthly gift until they cancel.
