Synopsis:Have people from various ethnic origins cook traditional foods, and then charge the public admission to the international dinner.
Place: This can be held at a large church fellowship hall, community events center, expo center, hotel ballroom or other large building that would give you a reduced rate or let you use it for free. If you pick a weeknight, you will probably have better luck, too, with both the free building and with the chefs. More
Artrageous Animals!
Animals available for adoption from the rescue will create professionally styled paintings. The paintings can be done on canvas and professionally matted and framed. These paintings are then given names reminiscent of great works of art and described as one would describe a work created by a master such as Monet, Rembrandt, Kandinsky or PAW-casso. Cite examples of shadowing, chiaroscuro, the artist’s sense of playing with light, the interesting uses of color, and the detailed ‘paw-strokes’ used. A bio of the animal artist and a photo of the animal will be provided in a smaller frame that will accompany the artwork when sold. The paw paintings can be sold for $100 or more during the auction time or sold individually as part of an art show. More
Is this happening to you? Your special fundraising dinner is in the planning process. You may have a few ideas for entertainment for the event or ideas for what local politicians and donors to invite, but when it comes to decorating, you’re feeling lost. Of course, you could hire a professional decorator to turn that bland event location into something worthy of a special dinner, but that cuts into your profits for the event. Prom decoration catalogs may seem useful at this point, but you probably don’t want to spend $500 for a ‘water fountain’ made from corrugated bulletin board material with aluminum foil ‘water’ and construction paper ‘lily pads’.
If you are currently staring at a blank piece of paper with no ideas for a theme or how to decorate for the event, then take a look at these ideas for some inspiration! More
A special dinner is held where people purchase a $100 ticket for a reverse raffle where the last person standing wins $10,000!
Hosting the Dinner
This can be a great night of excitement and entertainment! Host a special dinner event where the ticket price is a moderate amount, around $25 to $40 per plate. You don’t want it too high so that you eliminate the chance of people buying their $100 ticket for the $10,000! You’ll need at least 100 people to buy a ticket so you can cover the cost of the grand prize amount. Remind people that they can join together to purchase a ticket, gathering 5 friends together at $20 each, and they agree to split the winnings. More
