I want to share with you an idea I’ve had about minor league baseball, and some of you may be doing this fundraising idea already! I went to a minor league baseball game in 2004 while on vacation and saw the Syracuse Skychiefs play a great game. On Monday nights they allow free admittance to anyone with a church bulletin from the previous Sunday’s service, from any church. The big money maker for the stadiums is the concession stands, so they don’t mind letting some people in for free. More

Many of you may have heard about college aged students and their sororities/ fraternities getting together to sit on top of a teeter totter for several days, or sitting on a statue in the middle of winter for 2 or 3 days… all to raise money for their charities. This idea works, and if college aged kids had more money, I’m sure they’d give it to their friends for braving the elements for hours at a time trying to raise awareness for cancer research or other charities.
Here’s a great story about a group of police officers sitting on top of a doughnut shop (Krispy Kreme) to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics! Note the cooperation between the doughnut shop and the officers, and the ’special’ incentive people get for donating! It’s even in the tag line for the article! I’m sure they’re bringing in LOTS of people for this one! More

Cooking Class for a Fundraiser Let me start by saying I’m a big fan of the Food Network! If you have ever watched one of their cooking shows, like Emeril or Molto Mario, then you’ve seen how the chef cooks right in front of a group of people. Mario Batali only has 3 or 4 people on his show with him, but Emeril Lagasse has an entire studio audience. Michael Chiarello even gets his dinner guests involved with the cooking. THIS could be your next fundraiser! More
