Our future animal rescuers are currently students with a love for animals and an appreciation for working to help them. There are various ways that kids and young adults are able to help raise money and support animal rescues. It’s up to animal rescues to reach out and provide the opportunities for youth groups to take on and help support animals. More
Many shelters and animal rescue groups would love to expand their rescue based by including foster families in their programs. It’s a great program to bring those animals who need more attention into a loving home to receive special care or to learn household manners. It makes the animals more adoptable to have lived in a family situation similar to what they’ll have when adopted. The only problem for most groups is finding foster homes for the program. One segment of your population could be the key!

These tips can be so helpful in environments where paid staff members work with volunteers! More
Be sure to contact your local school teachers to discuss plans with them to bring humane education to the classroom! If possible, start with talking with the principal to see how your group can be used to bring humane education to the classrooms in various grades throughout the school. If you can’t get a general overall “we’d love to have you” from the principal, ask them for a few teachers who might be interested… or to allow you to distribute info to the teachers. Humane education could be an excellent topic for a Teacher Inservice Day at the school. More

A host group (your city chamber of commerce or YOUR RESCUE) coordinates to host a special event where 50 or more non profits from your town host a booth in a large area to pass out information about their groups and sign up volunteers. More
