Looking for another way to highlight your spay/ neuter programs toward the end of Spring? Consider hosting a Cinco de Spayo celebration in May!

Designate the days between May 5th and Mother’s Day as your group’s Cinco de Spayo Celebration! Give away 5 free spays to the first 5 customers who call, or celebrate the time between Cinco de Spayo and Mother’s Day as a special No More Mother’s Day event! That will be more than 5 days, but I’m sure you can still push some good spay info in that amount of time! You could sell corsages, sell ‘honor’ gifts for mothers to receive a special card from your group in honor of their love.

Another option would be to host a microchip clinic along with the spay/ neuter services. Host a “Chips and Salsa Special” with the chips being microchips for a clinic! You could also serve tortilla chips and salsa in the waiting room while the animals are being microchipped. You can buy these items in bulk, or ask a local Mexican restaurant to co-host the event with you and provide chips and salsa to your patrons. No matter what you call your event, you can still have a mini raffle/ door prize drawing for a BOX of Fiesta supplies, including a Salsa music CD, some margarita glasses and a pitcher (usually inexpensive at Walmart or party stores), some recipes and perhaps some food such as a platter from a local Mexican or Tex-Mex style restaurant!

Margaritas– Rescue pets take life with a bit of lime and salt Do you have a Fiesta grocery store near you in the DFW area? We have one in Austin, and I’m sure there will be lots of promotions around Cinco de Mayo, but I wonder if you can get them to help sponsor your event at the restaurant.
